This letter is to further explain the Yuletide requests for Labocat on AO3!

Dear Yuletide Writer,

Thank you so much for signing up, and I hope you’re as excited for this as I am! Hopefully we got matched on something that you’re excited to write, but if you’re more lukewarm for what we got matched on, hopefully the below will give you some spark! I’ve listed out general likes and dislikes, as well as some canon-specific likes and ideas. Please feel free to incorporate or disregard anything as you see fit!

In General: I’m really happy with anything! And by anything, I really do mean just about anything; it’s hard to find something that I absolutely don’t like hard stop. I’m good with all ratings, from G to NC-17, and though I do tend more towards relationships, gen shenanigans or character exploration or worldbuilding are always charming in my book. I also love all genres: fluff, action/adventure, hurt/comfort, canon, AU, pre/post-series, crossovers; if you have something in mind already, I’ll probably love it! I do prefer things to end on a happy or hopeful note, but I would never pass on or ask against angst and drama or even character injury (though for the purposes of this exchange, please not permanent).

I really like:
- AUs; if you’re having trouble thinking of something in the canon universe, please feel free to switch things up! Space opera, coffee shop, buddycop, Hogwarts, college, urban magic/fantasy, historical, band, Pokemon, the sky’s the limit! Most of my series I like for the characters, not necessarily the setting, and I enjoy seeing how characterization and relationships do and don’t stay the same with a setting, so I don’t mind whichever scenario you pick!
- I’m a huge sucker for domesticity/established relationship as well as found family (though the friends to lovers trope is well-loved for a reason!)
- A few tropes/tags I really like, in no particular order: accidental confessions, magical girls (yes, even with male characters), fake dating leading to real dating, “we’ve totally been dating for years and didn’t realize it until now”, road trips/general traveling together, reincarnation

Things I’d really rather not see for this exchange: Serious issues not already present in canon (suicidal thoughts, abusive family/relationships, homophobia/transphobia, self-harm, racism, political stands, etc.), characters using non-canonical pronouns, pregnancy/kids,

Really Optional Details That Are Entirely Optional (okay let’s just call them kinks): If you wanted to go a M/E route, and are comfortable writing any of the following, I really enjoy size difference, blindfolds, orgasm denial, messy/sloppy sex, intercrual, oral, semi-public sex (like in a closet or alley), sensory deprivation, toys, marking/possessiveness, body worship, slow, drawn-out sex that can really tie in with the aforementioned body worship. Though the holidays are a time for happy things and I do love some tooth-rottingly sweet loving sex, especially for established relationships or goofy first times that don’t go quite as planned! I also like a lot of things that generally have to be requested and that most people aren’t comfortable with so they are Really Optional and listed more here on the off chance that somehow they pick your fancy too and you’ve been waiting for someone to give the okay on them: vore/gore, especially if the recipient can heal quickly, tentacles, a/b/o more in the sense of social structure and desperation for sex than the mpreg and anal slick - unexpected omegas who are trying to hide it is really fun!, bloodplay, threesomes/moresomes, double penetration, and collars.

Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun
How to consume: The anime is available streaming on Crunchyroll! It’s only 12 episodes, so it’s really short and a quick watch! The manga is in a continuous 4-koma style, and can be found on a variety of reading sites.
Requested Character(s): Any

Situations that aren’t what they seem are really what make this series such a gem, and the constant twisting of relationships and tropes are what keep me coming back time and time again.

For this, really just about anything that you feel fits the characters, their back and forth, and the way situations seem to just spin out of their intent is great to me!

I do have ships for the series, but they’re highly secondary to my enjoyment of the series and I’m really flexible with them. I really only like Mayu with Mikoshiba (but Mikoshiba with anyone else is okay), but everything else is pretty much fair game: the ships the series has framed/been hinting at or just going wild with it! P.S. I REALLY like Ken and Maeno, either as a pair or as characters to create tension/a misunderstanding for the mains!

Some prompt ideas for Nozaki would definitely revolve around misunderstandings and unexpected situations, like Nozaki asking Chiyo on a date, only for it to be a group date and totally just for reference (but maybe he notices one of the other guys making advances at her and isn’t comfortable with it [and the unsurety of if the dislike is protectiveness or feelings] and stops it), or Hori and Kashima’s newest play, and Kashima’s attempts to make sure Hori gets to play the princess. Or even Ken and Maeno wake up with no memory of the past night and Ken slowly starts finding tanuki everywhere. Does Wakamatsu accidentally hear Seo singing and interrogate her later about how she knows Lorelei? I feel like this is a series you can really let your imagination run wild with the absurdity of situations and how much they get twisted, so I’d be delighted with whatever you come up with!

This is the one fandom I requested, however, that if you do want to write sexual content, I’d ask that it be kept more humorous/less kinky.

Touken Ranbu
How to Consume: Game scripts can be found at http://touken-ranbu.wikia.com,
Requested Character(s): Yamatonokami Yasusada, Kashuu Kiyomitsu

I really love the Okita-gumi as well as just the Shinsengumi swords, either goofing off at the citadel or going into full heartbreak about their pasts and former owners or destinies as swords. I really enjoy the dynamic of the Okita-gumi, especially the clash between their character designs and their personalities - how Yamato can look like a fluffy dog and teases a lot but is the type to keep going in sorties and training and become vicious when in battle mode, and how Kashuu is very concerned with his appearance and haughty, but has a lot of insecurities about his limits and disposability. Their attachment to each other, to Okita, and to the Saniwa are all captivatingly interesting aspects that hold a lot of room for exploration. Really, the entire fandom is a giant playground for headcanon and exploration, but those are some of mine! I like the school AU set, either the semi-canon one or fan creations, or modern/reincarnation AU thoughts and again, how their personalities and attachments as swords can be translated to an AU or human experiences. I also enjoy just the swords coming together in general, in ways that they wouldn’t have in their own times (found family is really near and dear to my heart), and it might be cute to see them have to deal with Christmas, since it obviously wasn’t something they’d be really familiar with.

Other swords I like, if you need background characters/others to write, are Imanotsurugi and Iwatooshi, Ichigo, Dotanuki, and Munechika.

How to consume: The anime is available streaming on Crunchyroll or Hulu, and WE FINALLY HAVE A FINALE EPISODE

This is definitely a series I’d be happy with receiving just about anything or any characters for! I have only seen the anime so far, but I don’t mind mentions of events or characters that are in the manga. I’d love to see some worldbuilding, since I feel like the setting of Hellsalem’s Lot leaves so much to be explored and played with! For me, BBB is a series that balances humor with more serious plots and situations really well, and that the characters themselves all have sillier sides that aren’t at odds with when they get down to business is really endearing to me. I’d be happy with either a more serious or lighthearted tone! Either a serious Libra investigation that could affect the entirety of Hellsalem's Lot or something more along the tone of Sonic causing mischief or picking up after Zapp's mishaps! Which, of course, with BBB, one doesn't necessarily exclude the other! I really like Z's longest day as an example of that, how it starts off (and honestly, continues) more lighthearted, but what's revealed in the actions and exposition adds another clue to the more serious aspect of the series. It's definitely a series that could have a lot of slice-of-life-esque tropes, but the addition of the world of Hellsalem's Lot and all the creatures to cause tension are the charm point!

Found family features prominently here again with the way Libra folds Leo in, and Leo’s dynamic with Klaus and his dynamic with Zapp and Zed definitely have me hooked! How many times does Leo end up sleeping on someone's couch? How many times have he and Zed had to go rescue Zapp (how many times have they had to dodge Zapp's angry exes/one-night-stands)? What's the story behind Steven's tattoo? Has anyone seen it? Does anyone try to see it?

Go hog wild. My involvement in sports series is almost entirely for the characters and character relationships, and I am really down with any of these in any sort of pairing arrangement or AU setting. Hell, throw ‘em all in an OT4 if you want. Preferences lean a little more towards Chris/Eijun and Miyuki/Kuramochi, but I’m all for Chris/Eijun/Miyuki as well, especially for something with sexual content. I enjoy these four especially for the way their support and admiration for each other is something that doesn’t always start out there or doesn’t show itself in the most obvious ways. Something a friend mentioned in passing while we were watching Daiya really stuck with me, which was that in any other sports series, Seidou would be one of the main rival teams - a school that has a huge team, lots of support, and regularly goes to championships (even if they don't always win) - and while we see a little of Eijun noticing this, it's mostly in passing and not really explored. Daiya is a series about champions, rather than underdogs, and that's interesting to me in both a canonical sense and how it might relate to an AU. Obviously, the characters themselves are a different story, and how they feel about their place could also be an interesting avenue to explore.
