tailcoatThis is the RMSE letter for Labocat on AO3! Just to start things off, I'm so excited to receive anything on this list, and I'm so excited that someone signed up to offer them! Along those lines, I do want to say that if nothing below sparks you, please feel free to use any ideas you already have! I'm really easy to please and all of these fandoms are here because I just want to see more writing in them in general, so anything at all is a gift!
Some tropes I adore that are relevant (non-comprehensive):
- pining (preferably mutual and resolved, but I am not at all picky)

A couple notes on things like pairing order - I've requested quite a few cnovels in which there are canon "orders", but I do not care in the slightest and encourage switching if you're feeling it - first time topping or first time reversing is always of interest! Exception: Cang Ji/Jing Lin
My DNWs are very few and are unlikely to come up in these canons, but just in case: pregnancy/kids, scat, watersports, prolapse.

Luo Binghe/Original Luo Binghe/Shen Qingqiu - I love the idea that Bing-ge and Bing-mei really aren’t all that different, that all the tendencies of the one are still present somewhat in the other, even if they never had the opportunity to be expressed in the same way. I love Bing-ge being jealous of Bing-mei for having Shizun’s attentions, and at not knowing whether he really wants to destroy this version of Shizun or see what being praised might feel like and why he didn’t get this supportive version of Shizun who pats his head and indulges him.
I am here for all of the hijinks that might ensue from Original Binghe’s jealousy, be it fights, kidnapping Shen Qingqiu, trying to prove that he’s the superior husband choice (by showing Luo Binghe how to properly please someone, aka that he’s failing rather badly), maybe being appalled that Luo Binghe usually cooks and cleans for Shizun but then throws himself into a competition, whatever way you want to express them competing (or even collaborating to drive Shen Qingqiu out of his mind, either with frustration or desire), please go for it! I am also here for some Luo Binghe/Luo Binghe if you want to go down that route, because as a reader, Shen Qingqiu is well used to being a voyeur and he is weak to those puppy eyes and tears. Also body control via the demon blood, especially a fight for control between the Binghes would be incredible.
LET THE FISH FUCK, LET THE FISH EAT. I still cannot believe I got into this novel under the description of "the gong is a carp, the gong very much wants to eat the shou" and then it ended up as this really striking, fascinating novel about love and suffering and memories and relationships and how they change us. While still very much being about a carp who wants to eat everyone. Cang Ji is kind of incredible in both how shameless he is and how excessively protective he is of Jing Lin because how dare anyone touch Jing Lin before he has a chance to consume him (or figure out just what the feelings underlying the desire to consume are)! I am absolutely living for everything that's come out in the flashback and how their relationship started,s o please feel free to play with any point in their timeline!

I'M SO HERE FOR THESE TWO AND THEIR ARGUMENTS??? I love how they're both hyper-competent and are constantly either already one step or trying to be one step ahead of the other and trying to find ways to get under the other's skin. The fact that they're both clearly enjoying this budding rivalmance is everything. There was a line like "soulmates are easy to find, a true rival is once in a lifetime, he wasn't going to lose him now" and I actually yelled out loud. Obviously they are also soulmates in that way that they're so meant for and fit so well with each other, but I dearly love that even without any tender feelings, they were both already so important and dear to each other, even if they are /entirely/ too good at fake arguments and riling each other up. Feng Xiao is so shameless and has so much fun with everything he does, especially if it annoys someone else, and Cui Buqu is such a good foil, quieter and more closed-off but no less willing to do what it takes when it comes down to it and no less cutting with his words and ever more pitting than Feng Xiao. I love the trust that's starting to build between them, even if it's come so far as information exchanges and mutual respect. I'm just ON FIRE THIS IS FINE.

Chang Geng/Gu Yun: OPPORTUNISTIC CARETAKING AND COMPETENCY. I love how competent both of them are, especially how Chang Geng especially uses his competency solely for the sake of Gu Yun, even as it sends everyone else into fearful scatters trying to figure out what sort of power grab he's going for. I'm weak for Gu Yun being surprised at how spoiled and shameless Chang Geng is when it comes to him like he didn't spend most of his life spoiling him, but I also dearly love moments when both of them realize just how fearfully competent the other is and fall even more in love and how they both contain different facets of love for each side of the other and how that just deepens their relationship. I am also extremely, extremely here for Chang Geng's opportunistic caretaking of Gu Yun when his medicine fails - please exploit this and Gu Yun's touch sensitivity because canon has not given me nearly enough of Gu Yun shivering at Chang Geng's touch because of his oversensitivity or Chang Geng's combination service/yifu kink. I love that there are so many opportunities for frantic reunions, excellent hurt/comfort, pining, and protectiveness. I still can't believe Chang Geng got jealous of a /doorframe/. They're ridiculous and Gu Yun indulges him and I love them both.
Gu Yun/Shen Yi: I also just have a lot of emotions about these two and how far they've come with each other. Please do not break up Gu Yun and Chang Geng - pre-canon is preferred, and pre-Gu Yun fully realizing his feelings for Chang Geng, please. Otherwise I just love that they grew up together under the circumstances that they did, being thrust into war and politics and schemes so early on and with basically only each other to lean on for such a long time. There are two people Gu Yun actually can be truthful with and Shen Yi has been his support system for so long and I'm so here for the thought that they were each other's first and all the fumbling that comes with that.

MY SPACE BOYS. To absolutely no one's surprise, Lu Bixing captured my heart right from the start almost as thoroughly as he's gotten to Lin Jingheng (and basically everyone he comes in contact with, lbr). I love this charismatic space scientist and his reticent commander and their burgeoning revolution and everyone they've surrounded themselves with. I love them building a sense of home where they can and in each other even in the midst of all the turmoil and chaos and the undercurrent of the bonds and loyalty they choose rather than the ones chosen for them, the constant striving for more and better, even in the face of obstacles. I love that they snatch affectionate moments when they can, as fumbling as they are (I adore the bad handjob in the closet, almost as much as I adore that it took them experimenting to figure out who tops), so please feel free to lean in to either of those!

Xiao Xingchen/Song Lan
Song Lan/Xue Yang
Song Lan/Xiao Xingchen - BREATHES DEEPLY. Okay so. No one told me ahead of time that there was a pair in this who did the whole "I'm giving up my eyes for you because I love you and refuse to talk about it" trope, which I entirely blame CLAMP for but it still hits very deep and I may or may not have yelled for an entire day. I love everything about them - I love that they were considered the best and ideal in both cultivation and partnership, only to fall out but CLEARLY NOT ENTIRELY because you don't just give up your eyes for someone you don't love deeply (ALSO XIAO XINGCHEN WHY DID YOU NOT JUST GIVE UP ONE EYE but why do anything by halves when you could have blindfolds and scars and a sacrificial complex a mile wide), and then only for Yi City to end up with a whole lot of still being deeply dedicated to each other and guilty until the end. Please do literally anything with this - the moment Song Lan realizes what Xiao Xingchen has done (as well as what he's done), some sort of fix-it where Song Lan gets Xiao Xingchen's soul back together, weird eye stuff, literally wherever you want to go with this, I'm there.
Xue Yang/Song Lan - ahhhhhhhhh, I am so, so fascinated by the thought of their antagonism, Xue Yang's manipulation of Song Lan, all that exists between them in the absence of absolutely any tender feelings but almost all the fiercer for it. This I absolutely don't need it to be happy or even bittersweet, so please feel free to lean heavy into the angst if you'd like!

POWER COUPLE OF THE AGES! I remain entirely thrilled that not only is this arranged marriage that works out in both their favors, but that they had a previous history - also that they came back together even before they resolved that. I love how protective they are of each other already, even while playing the long political game (even if they're doing a very bad job at keeping any idea that they aren't entirely in love from their underlings or enemies they're about to destroy). They both play their schemes in different but complementary ways, and I love that they involve each other more and more as things go on and tease but communicate.
